If you got the reject code IND-507 on your federal tax return, it means that a dependent you claimed on your federal tax return has already been claimed on someone else’s federal tax return.

Double-check that you entered the right Social Security Number (SSN) for your dependent(s). Mistakes happen!

If you know the SSN is correct, then it means that someone else did claim this dependent on their own tax return, either by fraud, mistake, or a miscommunication.

Check out our help center article about what to do if someone has claimed your dependent for step-by-step instructions on how you might be able to get this resolved.
